We have the expertise to design the most appropriate, meaningful, and effective assessment and therapy plans for your child. TRANSFORM - We will work to make sure your child is paired with a therapist whose training and experience is best suited to address his or her unique needs. Meaningful interactions with the right therapist will result in optimal outcomes. SMALL TALK OWNER/THERAPIST: Kim is a native Arizonan who has lived and worked in Scottsdale her entire life. She graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Business Administration from Arizona State University and worked in the business sector until she decided her calling was to work with children. She then earned her Arizona Teacher Certification and was a preschool teacher until returning to school to earn her Master of Science in Communication Disorders from Arizona State, being awarded the Carol S. Tymkowich Scholarship for academic and clinical performance and graduating with a 4.0 G.P.A. After finishing her education Kim worked with students from 3 to 18 years of age who had a wide range of speech and language delays and disorders. Kim has provided therapies in public school, residential treatment center, private school, and home-based settings. In the public schools Kim provided interventions in self-contained and resource settings in which she gained detailed knowledge of the special education process. Kim has a particular interest in the autism population. Her desire to learn about these unique individuals led her to acquire hundreds of hours of professional development training related to autism. Kim collaborates with professionals in a variety of disciplines to develop and present school district trainings related to the characteristics, assessment, support, and intervention for children with autism. She has also served on committees and in related roles that addressed special education issues and provided support for other professionals who work with students with autism. Most importantly, Kim is passionate about providing meaningful speech language interventions for all children. Her mission is to make Small Talk a leader of therapeutic excellence in the industry.
